Monday Motivation: Why Setting Goals Doesn't Work.

Hey Reader,

I pray you are doing well.

I know you read the title of this email and was like, what is the lady talking about?

Or you may have thought this was a clickbait email...I assure you it is not.

Let me say it again.

Setting Goals Doesn't Work.

Think about it...

We’ve all fallen into the trap of setting goals, especially at the beginning of the year only to be disappointed when those goals are still the same the next year. Then, we are hard on ourselves about the fact that we spent a whole year and haven’t moved the needle toward our desired life.

Do you know what happened?

We bought into the lie that setting goals would help us achieve our next step.

So, what are we supposed to do?

First, we can set goals all we want, but if we aren't in alignment with God, it will be difficult to achieve those goals. Also, our plans are secondary to the plans of God. Proverbs 19:21 (NIV) beautifully captures this sentiment: "Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails."

Okay, so if you can't create goals, then what should we do?

The thing is.....

we CAN create goals,

but those goals alone will not help us to finish the line.

We have to pray about those goals.

We have to be in alignment with God.

We have to be intentional about an action plan.

I'm going to share with you a strategy for how to stop setting goals that die.

If you are interested, go ahead and sign up for

"The Wait is Over Workshop."

It's free, by the way. I promise you will leave with tools that will enhance your life.

Also, I will share why vision boards don't work either.

Say, what?!

And let's talk about it!

The Wait is Over, Reader!

Hey Reader, I pray you are doing well. In April, we are checking in. April is all about checking in on the goals you set for 2024. Do you remember them? Do you have them written down somewhere, perhaps in a journal or sticky notes? (If you need a journal, check out our collection HERE) Anyhoo, How many times have we uttered the words, “Next year will be the year I…” only to find ourselves stuck in the same patterns of procrastination and unfulfilled dreams? I can relate all too well. But...

Hey Reader Its April! Can you believe it?! It seemed like the year was going slow, and then bam! Listen, we live in a society that often encourages us to wear masks—to present ourselves in ways that are acceptable to others, to hide our struggles and vulnerabilities, and to conform to societal norms. But as Christian women, we are called to a higher standard—one of authenticity, transparency, and genuine connection. So, what does it mean to embrace authenticity in our faith? Click the link...

Hey Reader Dear Sisters in Christ, As we gather together on this beautiful Easter morning, my heart is filled with joy and gratitude for the precious gift of our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. Easter is not merely a day on the calendar; it is a profound reminder of the hope, victory, and promise we have in Christ. In His resurrection, we find assurance...
